Over 500 nurses and 180 midwives for RN Heals 3 Region 9

20th Feb (ZAMBOANGA CITY). Soon, more than 500 nurses and 180 midwives can finally have a taste of their longed awaited job working according to their profession. For the number of days are already counted as the Registered Nurses for Health Enhancement And Local Service (RN Heals 3) is about to start.

That is now official as the DOH Region 9 Regional Director Dr. Aristides Tan, announced the total number of 511 nurses to be deployed in the diverse places of Zamboanga Peninsula Region 9 for RN Heals 3 this coming March.

At least a year of community for that focusing on the follow ups of the health needs of the community assigned to them as well as the assistance of the enrolment of Philippine Health Insurance (Philhealth) within those parts.

Here is a list of available 511 nurses’ items or positions:

  • 220 slots to Zamboanga del Sur
  • 205 to Zamboanga del Norte
  • 72 to Zamboanga Sibugay
  • 8 to Zamboanga City
  • 6 to Isabela City, Basilan

While here is another list for the available 180 midwives’ items or positions:

  • 76 from Zamboanga Del Sur
  • 61 from Zamboanga del Norte
  • 41 from Sibugay
  • 1 each from Zamboanga City and Isabel, Basilan


The hiring and selection will be done in a panel interview assigning panellists from Region 9 DOH, City Health Office, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The hired applicants will undergo a two day orientation before final and proper deployment starts. Determination or assignment of the different areas of deployment will be done by DOH and DSWD.

Tan added that the one of their top priority areas are those with the most beneficiaries of the conditional transfer of the Pantawid Pamilyan Pilipino Program or 4Ps the same with Basic Emergency Maternal Obstetric Neonatal Care centers.

The RN Heals 3 batch of nurses for Region 9 will receive a monthly pay of P8, 000 and additional P2, 000 from concerned local government as the Department of Health continue to encourage.
