My Book of the month April 2025 box is finally here. Itโs been like ages waiting for this book and today is April 8. I used to live on the east side and I can receive the box in just two to three days. Imagine!
Anyway, Book of the month has 5 picks for this month. When I choose, I usually start (1) first with my gut feeling or a gravitational factor that just catches my attention even before reading the synopsis or brief description. If not, I move on to (2) second, BOTM special releases or promotions. For this month, itโs The Sun was electric light by Rachel Morton that is โan only BOTM releaseโ and Every Sweet thing is Bitter that is a debut and an early release before its official April 22nd release if I still canโt choose then, my last resort is (3) third, find anything that I can relate to and that is:
Six Days in Bombay by Alka Joshi about a young nurse who travels the world to unravel a series of intertwining mysteriesโand clear her name of murder. Iโm a nurse so might as well pick this one and see. This falls under the historical fiction genre so good luck to me, I still have lots of historical genre books that are left unfinished in the TBR or should I say TBF โto be finishedโ so, letโs see.
The other books are The Griffin Sistersโ Greatest Hits by Jennifer Weiner and The Passion Project which is a debut.
My Book of the month April 2025 Add-on
I had splurge last year all because I wanted to get the Challenge Crusher prize which I did for reading 30 books so for this year, I plan to lie low and just settle with the basic award of Book boss reading 15 books. I get to have free two books every year (after I had my 12 months BOTM boxes delivered), one is every March for their annual book of the month winner and second is during my birthday month so that leaves me with only one extra add on to purchase to achieve the 15 books for this year and thatโs going to be this month.
I just joined a book club in my home country, specifically my province in CDO focusing in the Visayan regions, Book Chickas PH. Their April book pick has a theme of siblings with The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett getting the most votes. Iโm hitting two birds with one stone both in my BOTM subscription and my home country book club.ย
I just started my reading goals this April with 100 pages a day. So far, itโs doing good. To the days I have not achieved it, I catch up on the next days and add the missing number of pages. Currently Iโm reading my third book this month and itโs just been a week yet, so Iโm getting good vibes with my goals.
How about you? What did you get for this month?
